Treat your business like your baby

Your Brand is Your Baby, Why Not Treat It Like One?

According to Bloomberg, the average cost to raise a child from birth to the age of 18 is $233,610. While I personally think this is a little low, my question is this: If entrepreneurs consider their business to be their “baby,” literally and figuratively, why don’t they invest as much in their brand as they would for a child?

In order for a business to grow and prosper, it must be fed (through sales and marketing); clothed (by a professional, consistent and relevant brand image); and educated (through customer interaction and feedback). Does your current brand identity, marketing collateral, and website contribute to the overall growth and ongoing health of your “baby”?

If not, then maybe it’s time for a rebrand.
